A reading book café is launched The Soma Book Café was launched on 6th June, 2008 with a sole purpose of promoting book reading in the Tanzania.  The book café which is the brainchild of E&D Vision Publishing Limited aims to encourage the general public to buy and read books.  It has a bookshop, book reading stalls, internet café and a kitchen. During the launch, a couple of activities were performed. The celebration of 500 years of Kiswahili poetry brought together poets who seized the unique opportunity to show their talent.  Children too, had a chance to enjoy reading books. An interesting reading session was arranged to enable a child read a book and report to fellow children what he/she had read. The launch was also graced by theatre artists and performers came from as far as Kenya.   The  book café has a bookshop, book reading stalls and a coffee shop. It is open throughout the week except on Sunday.
